Does This Dress Make My Blog Look Bad

Does This Dress Make My Blog Look Bad?

I’m just going to come right out and say it: we are experiencing severe technical difficulties.

Yes, I know, it’s only been a few months since our massive redesign. But such is the nature of this beast. Sometimes you have to try on a few dresses before you find THE ONE. And even then, sometimes you get that gorgeous dress home only to discover that it has a super itchy tag, and when you try to tear the tag out you accidentally rip a huge hole across the back of it.

Well shit. Now you can’t wear it or return it.

And that’s kind of where we are right now with In the Powder Room. Our new and improved website looked really pretty on the hanger, but it simply was not wearing well, and in this business form is nothing without function. So I ask for your patience as my web designer and I attempt to patch some holes, uh… so to speak.

I don’t want to risk putting up any new content until I’m sure I can serve it up properly and honor our authors with a fully-functioning platform. I’ll post updates on Facebook and Twitter as soon as we’re good to go.

In the meantime, I was interviewed recently by Susan Maccarelli (a new ITPR author!) for her new venture, Beyond Your Blog. She is a fantastic interviewer and asked me some great questions about the submission process at ITPR, what I look for in an article, and why being published beyond your own blog is so important for writers. We also talked about things bloggers can do to improve their chances of being published here. You can listen to the entire podcast here. Susan’s website is a fantastic resource in general. If you’re a blogger, do yourself a favor and check out Beyond Your Blog for all kinds of tips that can help you take your blogging to the next level.

Thanks Leslie! I’m sorry that ITPR is feeling under the weather – luckily I can still get to it, so it must be one of those diseases that isn’t obvious to the rest of us. Get well soon ITPR!

Just don’t look too closely and you might not notice the spit and glue holding it together right now. And thank YOU for the fabulous interview. You are doing such an incredible job, Susan!

Ugh, sorry technology is raining on your parade. So. Annoying.
I have listened to a couple of Susan’s podcasts and I agree- she is a great interviewer! Your interview is next up on my list. Good luck with your bubble gum and duct tape fixaroo.
