Report Thu Oct 4, 2012 - 2:18 amI love this post! I was actually super excited when I heard that Honey Boo Boo was going to have her own reality show. When I first saw Alana on Toddlers in Tiara's I found myself cracking up throughout the entire show! That girl has spunk and to be honest? She reminds me of my 4.5 year old son who is chubby and blonde and says ridiculous things and is always goofing around and trying to be a comedian. He even does the perfect Honey Boo Boo impersonation. Although our family is very different from June's I too can see that she loves her family and if cameras were rolling on our house, i'm sure people would have plenty to judge! lol!Reply

It was sort of handed to me by a friend and it is a great job with great health insurance and I don't have to work if I am in pain and I can go in late.....but I miss you. PS I have never seen Honey Boo Boo, but I am interested now that I know you watch! PSS I did run into Sister Wives in Disneyland on August 21st! I talked to the three teenage girls, who were very sweet.Reply

When I heard Nancy Grace attacking this woman on her show for putting Alana in pageants, I thought to myself, "lady you have obviously never watched the show or else you would have seen a mom who loves her kids and probably spends more quality time with them than most mothers". I love the show and will definitely tune in for season 2.Reply

They live a mere 30 minutes from here- does that make me semi-almost famous-ish? I too love the show. June's an awesome Mom who loves her family and doesn't give a rip (well ok she frequently gives a rip but who doesn't love that?) what others think. I don't like the exploitation (especially with the kids), and I do hope this family is getting paid fairly. But, I like June and her family. They are genuine people. We could all learn a lot from them about being authentic. I think this genuineness is what make June so likable. I just hope the girls don't grow up and regret their television fame.Reply

They can be about funny, no shame, REAL people who even though they don't have much in the way of material things, genuinely enjoy each others company and have a lot of fun together. It makes me smile. The Housewives franchises on the other hand portray a bunch of rich, vapid people who have all the material riches, yet go ballistic at the least slight, real or imagined, all the while spotting obscenities at the top of their lungs. That just makes me sad. I would rather have sketti with June and family than dine on foie gras and creme brulee with any of the Housewives no matter where.....New Jersey, Miami, Beverly Hills, Orange County, or Atlanta. (Although since Atlanta is my hometown maybe I would sneak off to the Varsity.Reply

My love is no better because I live in a bigger house, my sink works and I don't have a southern accent. I did however give Bubba Watson and Rory McIlroy a bath this week, my son's pet lizards. It is a silly show that when I put it on I am smiling and squirming. So they aren't bobbing for pigs feet for a million dollars on Survivor, they just do it for fun!Reply

But then I watched Toddlers and Tiaras where the mothers are really mean to their little girls and I like June a lot more. It's not my favorite show and I don't have any desire to bob for pigs feet but I've come to see their good side.Reply

I can see where her attitude towards life and family values are admirable, but I guess where I have the issue with is WHY they got the show in the first place - it is because of how they look and because they are easy, and sensation targets. For that reason, it makes me sad.Reply -
