And yes, she is a total cunt, and I never use that word because i hate it. Thanks for being yet another person to call her out. Then there was the letter you speak of and it is everything you say it is and at that time she had not responded publicly, now she has, I am offended, and I do understand. She is a cunt. I have completely missed all this so thanks for letting me, among many others, know. And boy howdy, you were right with that title. Writing as someone who has worked side by side with people with learning difficulties I know from experience that the demographic she so carelessly dismisses have a lot more intelligent things to say than... well, her. Apart from her outdated use of the word 'retarded' (doesn't she sound just like the thick school bully who can't think of any other insults apart from 'dumb' or 'stupid'?!), and apart from her sloppy use of this word to describe someone (neatly demonstrating her lack of vocabulary), her lazy journalistic style announces her as someone who only seeks to shock, rather than inform and inspire (using 'retarded' as an insult is just so tacky and dull). Yawn. She'll fade like the rest of the idiots without any integrity and/or talent--they have an inbuilt self-destruct button. A civilised society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable members. This woman has demonstrated her lack of civilisation, and certainly her lack of sophistication in using the word 'retarded' (referring to a vulnerable group of her society) as an insult.Reply
