If This Vote's a-Rockin', Don't Come a-Knockin'! A comical song by Linda Roy about the importance of getting off on voting this General Election Day!

If This Vote’s a-Rockin’, Don’t Come a-Knockin’

Music & Lyrics by Linda Roy

You said that I’d be voting in the genital erection and that confused me
You said that it was basically the patriotic thing for folks to do
Well, in politics you’re always just one poll dance from winning or from losing
And your red flag flying at half mast leaves me completely flabbergast
But I’m nothing if not red, white, and blue
So you took me to a voting booth
I thought “this is kinky and a bit uncouth”
But civic duty kinda turns me on
Now, I’m not too political, I’m not terribly correct
But dammit, women got the vote, so I haven’t missed one yet
I read up on the candidates ’cause platforms ain’t just shoes
And if we fuck this shit up now we all stand to lose
So pull the curtain, let’s get crackin’
I’ll pull your lever, no more slackin’
I don’t mind that this is Trump-ing what’s essentially ‘sposed to be humping
’cause you’re a GOP, I’m a Democrat
I’ve got better things to do with my time than worry about your hanging chad
So let’s do something beneficial
Elect a government official
Head to the ballot box on general election day
